Parents Club
Fort Ross Parents’ Club assists the staff and enriches the students’ school memories by planning and coordinating activities at Fort Ross School. How? By providing extra needed classroom items, funding school field trips, assisting the teachers with classroom parties and festivities, and supporting the faculty and staff. The parents work with the staff to develop a yearlong plan of activities that requires approval from the school board. The main events of 09/10 are escrip, hot lunches monthly, milk and juice program daily, holiday themed events, Scholastic Book Fair, the Staff Luncheon, and the annual swim party in June. Some activities do produce a small income. Proceeds are then cycled back through the school as appropriate needs arise. Meetings are held monthly with special meetings for special events. The main underlying goal is for the parents to have fun and create a positive, inclusive atmosphere for the school community.
